  • Communicate about products and services via email, mail, and telephone
  • Meet anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) obligations

We collect identifiers, customer records, commercial and financial information, professional and employment information, internet activity, audio/visual records, education information, and sensitive information such as government IDs. Although CoinZoom does not directly collect or store biometric data, when you submit a government ID and a selfie our vendors may collect and store your facial geometry to verify your identity. We also collect data automatically through analytics tools (Google Analytics), cookies, and similar technologies, and from third parties such as advertising and social networks, data analytics providers, and public databases.

How we share your data

In the past 12 months we have disclosed personal data to service providers; advertising networks, social networks, and data analytics providers; affiliated entities; partners and prospective partners; and government entities, law enforcement, and regulators when permitted or required by law. We do not sell your information.

Legal bases for processing (EEA)

For individuals in the EEA, we process personal data based on your consent, the performance of a contract, compliance with legal and regulatory obligations, and our legitimate interests. Special categories of data are processed where necessary for legal claims, substantial public interest, or with explicit consent.

Marketing

EEA individuals receive marketing only with explicit prior opt-in consent that can be withdrawn anytime. Non-EEA individuals may object anytime via unsubscribe links or account preferences. Transactional and account notifications continue regardless of marketing preferences. We do not sell your information, and vendors cannot use your data for their own marketing.

Your rights

European Union

EEA individuals can object to processing for direct marketing and profiling, opt out of automated decision-making with legal effects, restrict processing, request data portability, and request erasure. Responses are typically provided within one month. In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you and any relevant authorities where legally required.

California

Under the CCPA and CPRA, California residents have the right to know, access, and delete their personal data; the right to data portability; the right to correct inaccurate data; the right to opt out of sale or sharing (CoinZoom does not sell or share personal data); the right to limit the use of sensitive information; and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. Submit requests at coinzoom.com/en/support or support@coinzoom.com. We acknowledge requests within 10 business days and respond within 45 days (up to 90 with notice).

Nevada

Nevada residents may request that their personal data not be sold, even though CoinZoom does not sell data. Requests via support@coinzoom.com are free.

Protecting your data

We use commercially reasonable physical, technical, and organizational safeguards — including encryption where appropriate, backups, and periodic testing — to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of personal data. However, no method of safeguarding information is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that our safeguards will be sufficient.

Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including legal, regulatory, accounting, and legitimate business obligations. AML check copies are retained for the client relationship plus five years. Note that ZOOM and other virtual currencies may not be fully anonymous, as public ledgers reflect balances and transaction history for any public wallet address.

Fraud prevention, children & third parties

Before providing services, we conduct fraud and money laundering checks with fraud prevention and credit reference agencies, which may retain risk data for up to six years. Children under 18 are not permitted to use the services, and we do not knowingly collect their information. We are not responsible for the content, security, or privacy practices of third-party websites you access through our services.

Cookies & tracking

We use cookies, pixel tags, web beacons, and tracking technologies to personalize your experience, administer the services, and measure marketing. You can opt out via the DAA WebChoices and AppChoices tools, the NAI consumer opt-out, and the Google Analytics opt-out. We do not respond to browser Do Not Track signals.

International transfers & updates

For EEA individuals, transfers to countries without equivalent protections are subject to European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses. We may modify this notice at any time and will use reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes. Continued use of the services constitutes acknowledgment of the amended notice.
