Terms of Service

By accessing or using the CoinZoom platform you agree to be bound by these terms of service, including the arbitration agreement, class action waiver, and jury trial waiver. CoinZoom, Inc. serves U.S. residents and users outside the U.S. (except Australia), while CoinZoom Australia PTY LTD. handles Australian users who transfer fiat or digital tokens through U.S. financial institutions.

CoinZoom operates as a FinCEN-registered Money Service Business (MSB) subject to the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999. CoinZoom is required to collect and verify information about you to prevent fraud, terrorist activity, and money laundering.

MTL vs. Non-MTL states

In MTL states (where CoinZoom holds money transmission licenses), fiat funds reside in FBO accounts at insured institutions. In Non-MTL states, Cross River Bank (CRB) maintains custodial accounts and your fiat funds are deposited to a custodial account at CRB.

Biometric data

CoinZoom does not directly collect biometric data, but vendors including Microsoft Azure and Onfido may collect facial geometry for identity verification in connection with Know-Your-Customer, Anti-Money Laundering, and Counter Terrorist Finance obligations. Before collecting biometric information, CoinZoom will inform you in writing, disclose the specific purpose, explain vendor retention policies, and obtain your affirmative consent.

Advanced protocols

Do not use your CoinZoom account to attempt to receive, request, send, store, or engage in any transaction involving an Advanced Protocol such as meta-coins or colored coins. CoinZoom assumes no responsibility whatsoever in respect to Advanced Protocols.

Eligibility & accounts

Users must be at least 18 years old and use accounts for personal purposes only. If you are acting on behalf of others, CoinZoom will close your account and may report your activities to law enforcement, regulators, or taxing authorities. CoinZoom determines residency during onboarding; if you move to a different state, you must promptly update your profile and may be required to re-verify your identity and re-accept these Terms.

Digital currency trading risks

Digital currency trading is only suitable for investors who are familiar with and willing to accept the high risk and non-liquidity associated with it. Prices can fluctuate significantly and currencies may become worthless. Unlike most currencies, digital currency is backed by technology and trust rather than governments or commodities.

Wallets, conversions & transfers

Verified users can request, send, receive, and store supported digital currencies. Hosted wallet services are available only for digital currencies CoinZoom chooses to support. Conversion rates are stated as a Buy Price or Sell Price, and CoinZoom may add spreads.

You cannot cancel or reverse completed or pending crypto transfers. CoinZoom reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or reverse any purchase or sale of digital currency in its sole discretion — even after funds have been debited — if it suspects money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, or other financial crime. CoinZoom is not responsible for funds in XLM, XRP, or EOS sent to a wallet address without a tag or memo, and such funds will not be recovered.

Taxes

Digital currency trading may result in taxable consequences in your jurisdiction, and you must determine, report, and pay any applicable taxes. CoinZoom has no obligation to calculate or make available information regarding taxes or the taxable consequences of your transactions.

Inactivity & abandoned accounts

After 6 months of no activity, CoinZoom charges $4.99 monthly; after 12 months, this increases to $9.99 monthly; after 36 months, CoinZoom charges a one-time $100 account closing fee and closes your account. Accounts that remain inactive for the applicable dormancy period are reported as abandoned to the relevant jurisdiction.

Proprietary rights & termination

CoinZoom owns and retains all proprietary rights in the site, the services, and all material posted thereon. You may not alter, modify, publish, distribute, or copy content without express written permission. CoinZoom may terminate your access to all or any part of the site and services at any time, with or without cause or notice, effective immediately.

Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The site is provided “AS IS” with no representations or warranties of any kind, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. CoinZoom is not liable for any inaccuracy, error, or delay in third-party data, including input errors like “fat fingering” or wrong wallet addresses.

CoinZoom is not liable for lost profits, data loss, or special, indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages. Maximum direct damages liability is $100. CoinZoom is not liable for delays or interruptions caused by force majeure events including market volatility, regulatory action, acts of God, terrorist attack, pandemic, or government shutdown.

Indemnification & governing law

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CoinZoom, its affiliates, and their employees, contractors, directors, suppliers, and representatives from all liabilities, claims, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees. For Non-MTL users, indemnification extends to CRB. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the state of Utah, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.

Dispute resolution & arbitration

Any dispute or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms, your use of the site, or your relationship with CoinZoom must proceed through binding individual arbitration, except small claims court matters. Parties must first attempt informal resolution for 60 days after written notice describing the claim, contact information, and the relief sought.

Eligible disputes are resolved in Salt Lake City, Utah under the Utah Arbitration Act; if that provision is unenforceable, the American Arbitration Association (AAA) administers proceedings in the federal judicial district of your residence. An award exceeding $50,000 may be appealed to a three-arbitrator AAA panel. Mass filings of 25+ similar claims follow a staged bellwether process.

Class action & jury trial waivers

You and CoinZoom each agree that any proceeding, whether in arbitration or in court, will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, collective, consolidated, private attorney general, or representative action. To the fullest extent allowable by law, you and CoinZoom waive the right to a jury trial. You may reject future arbitration modifications by sending signed written notice within 30 days to: CoinZoom, Inc. (Legal Department), 4640 S Holladay Vlg Plz #206, Salt Lake City, UT 84117.

Australian users

Australian residents first pursue CoinZoom’s internal complaints process. If unresolved after 30 days, complaints escalate to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA). Disputes outside AFCA’s jurisdiction proceed to arbitration under the ACICA Rules, seated in Sydney, New South Wales, in English before a sole arbitrator.

Prohibited businesses & activities

CoinZoom may suspend or terminate accounts used for alcohol, tobacco, pharmaceuticals, illegal drugs, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, firearms, ammunition, weapons, sexually oriented materials, pornography, materials promoting intolerance or violence, multi-level marketing, Ponzi or pyramid schemes, illegal gambling, lotteries, counterfeit materials, terrorist financing, fraud, money laundering, or any other unlawful purpose.

CoinZoom Visa cardholder agreement

The CoinZoom Visa Card is issued by Zenus Bank through Program Manager CoinZoom, Inc. The card remains the property of the Bank, is nontransferable, and may be canceled, repossessed, or revoked at any time. It is a debit card funded by your Card Account — not a credit card or gift card — and earns no interest. It must be used primarily for personal, family, and household purposes.

You must activate the card and set a PIN before use, and you should not write down your PIN or keep it with your card. Purchases are limited to your available balance and applicable daily limits. Authorization holds may remain for up to 60 days; restaurant, hotel, and car rental transactions may be preauthorized for the purchase amount plus up to 20%. You have no right to stop payment on card transactions and remain liable for any negative balance.

You can stop recurring payments by notifying the Bank at least three business days before the scheduled transfer at (866) 286-8054 or support.coinzoom.com. A 12-month transaction history is available in the app or website; a 24-month written history can be requested by email. Refund credits may take up to five days to become available.

Business continuity

After significant disruptions, CoinZoom notifies customers via www.CoinZoom.com. The business continuity plan addresses data backup and recovery, mission-critical systems, financial and operational assessments, alternative communications, alternate physical locations, and regulatory reporting.
